It's all in the genes. While I've been busy bloggity mcblogalot over here in the UK, back on the other side of the Atlantic, Mamma Whisperer has been getting into the groove and dabbling with a little blogging contribution of her own, attending events back at the homeslice on behalf of the London-based Whispering Clan. So last week, when contemporary American designer Adam Lippes invited a handful of his favorite New York City bloggers to come on down to his store at 678 Hudson Street for some champers and a chance to mingle with the designer one on one while selecting a take-home from his lush Spring/Summer collection, bridal gown wholesale bridal gown wholesale Mamma Whisp found herself crosstown in a New York minute. MW writes:  Last week, Adam hosted a fun evening of cocktails and dress up at his beautiful store in the heart of New York City's Meatpacking District, and Adam himself assisted the guests in finding the perfect summer outfit to take home!!!! The choice was either a complete outfit or a dress. All the guest were having a great time enjoying the honor of dressing up with the designer along with a glass of champagne!

For my part, I found his clothes to be extremely comfortable, easy to wear, and great to put on!!! And looking around the room, I saw women of all ages, excitedly picking through the racks, Adam's designs have a timelessness that looks great at any age, no wonder he won Oprah's "Real World Style Award"!!! There were so many great pieces, it was so hard to choose, but since I am planning to vacation on Marrakech with TCW this summer, I decide to go for "WHITE!" When I found a very beautiful lace blouse layered with a white camisole underneath, I knew it was the one. And somewhere at the back of my mind, I was inspired by Kate's Sarah Burton wedding gown wedding gown --white and lace, of course!

I also found a gorgeous black silk dress to die for! But I could find only size 8 in the rack, which is a size I usually wear and so decided to try it on even though it looked a little big. But before I could, Adam himself came by and said wedding dresses for the mother of the groom , "Oh, no you are size 2 or size 4!" I balked at this a little, I have been shopping for a long time and I know what size I am. But sure enough, Adam was right! The dress was way too big and his assistant was kind enough to go down to the basement to fetch me the "correct" size! She returned with a size 4, and wow, yes, he was right! Adam said with a laugh, "of course, I know!" The designer knows best!! I snapped up the dress in an instant.

It was a very happy moment, indeed...For some reason, wedding dresses juniors bridesmaids wedding dresses juniors bridesmaids I think size is a very sensitive issue among women, especially as we get older. When I used to own a boutique, I had women who were a size 12 or even 14 coming in and insisting to buy clothes in a size 6 or 8, with the intention of "losing weight to fit into it" or saying that they're "ALWAYS a size 6." As we get older, we get stuck in patterns of dressing lavender flower girl dress , thinking we're done experimenting and that we know what suits us and what doesn't. But fashion is always changing, cocktail dresses cheap evolving, and with 30 being the new 20 and 40 the new 30 and so on, more mature ladies do not have to always get trapped by this rule of "Size." And it is empowering.

But back to the event. After I decided on this gorgeous lace top, I looked to pair it with the  matching skirt but it was sold out! So I went for an amazing pair of yoga pants instead. I am a big collector of yoga pants for years, it does not mean I am good yogi but I love to wear them and be comfortable. I must say Adam's yoga pants are the best I ever had!! They are simple, stylish but made of the finest cotton, of course! As you may know, Adam started his brand by launching "The Collection of Basics" at Saks Fifth Avenue in the spring of 2004. His range of gorgeous luxury basics soon became one of  "Oprah's Favorite Things!" Comfort, at any age, never goes out of style.


So in the end, I went home with the white lace blouse, yoga pants and, of course, the black silk dress as well!!! Thanks, beautiful wedding dress beautiful wedding dress Adam!!! I truly enjoyed the event!

Mamma Whisp's Q&A with Adam Lippes:

Mamma Whisperer: What is the must item for this season?

Adam Lippes: long skirts with flats and color! I started with pale color for spring, but now we are moving to neon green and pink for high summer.

MW:  Is "casual chic" staying here as fashion mainstream?

AL: The trend is a more refined, sophisticated and elegant look but comfortable and easy to wear, so I'd have to say, yes!

MW:  What do you mean by the phrase "real woman?"

AL: I want to design clothes for everyone--easy, sweetheart neckline short prom dresses sweetheart neckline short prom dresses comfortable and affordable! My idea of fashion is "having fun" by dressing up, it's about accessibility. For example, tonight's dress up event!  prom gowns 2012 ;

 are just a few words to describe uggs . so why is it that everybody hates them? is it because they are so common? is it because they are not the most fashion forward piece of  footwear out there? or is it simply because everybody else says they are bad, so we just have to agree?

i bought my UGGS on holiday in the US (they are much cheaper over there), and always turn to them in . eg: scruffy tracksuit days, achy feet days, cold days, and snowy days. they seem like the piece of footwear everyone has to have; but i admit that i never wear these on a day to day, fashion concious basis. this is mainly because a)i feel that UGGS are (and i hate going out looking like every other girl in town), and b)they make my feet look
